LAWS–PVUMC IS COLLECTING JOURNALS AND JARS!!!
Loudoun Abuse Women’s Shelter (LAWS) is hosting its 3rd Annual Take Back the Night (TBTN) Event Saturday, April 19 from 6-8:00 pm. TBTN is an event centered around bringing awareness to sexual assault and supporting survivors. It commemorates Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (April) called Take Back the Night. TBTN started in the 1970s as a grassroots movement to provide a safe space for survivors to speak out about their experiences. The focus is on community healing and self-care.
LAWS has asked us for help. We need to provide jars with lids and journals (50 of each). Neither need to be elaborate or expensive. They can be Mason jars even purchased from the Dollar Store. Journals are to be like the journals we utilize when doing our devotions. Avoid Composition Notebook style. Jars don’t all have to be Mason Jars.
DEADLINE IS SUNDAY, APRIL 6.
• JARS: If Mason jars, 16 or 24 oz. (pint sized/pint and half).
• JOURNALS: A variety of journals for survivors to pick from.
Avoid lined pages – opting for blank pages.
